2020 Catalog is live!

Front cover 2020 RGP Catalog.jpg

We are excited to be celebrating five years of making picture books this year. We have learned so much, met amazing people, and introduced the world to some fantastically creative authors and illustrators!

Click here to download a PDF of the 2020 Catalog. Or visit our website to see our special anniversary catalog.

We started Ripple Grove Press because we have a passion for well-told and beautifully illustrated stories for children. Here’s to the next five years and beyond!

Cheers,

Rob & Amanda Broder

All the Feels for The Full House and the Empty House

Full+House_Empty+House+Cover.jpg

It makes us feel so warm and fuzzy inside reading a review like this. :-)

"Caldecott Awards are not popularity contests… or so they say. But let’s be honest for a second. The likelihood that a book from a small publisher will steamroll books from the bigger, richer presses with huge publicity budgets is pretty slim. There are always exceptions (Crown probably being the most obvious example) but at the end of the day, it comes down to the companies willing to wine and dine the committee members. Here’s a fun fact: While ALA committee members are forbidden from discussing the books up for contention in any way on social media, it is not against the rules to accept invitations to lunches and dinners held by the very publishers attempting to woo the members with their most beautiful books. I remember attending a lunch at ALA Mid-Winter years ago (not as a committee member), sitting next to Caldecott committee folks while artists discussed their methods and techniques at length. How is that fair to the little guys like Ripple Grove Press here? Some smaller publishers are so cash strapped, they can hardly afford to send copies of their books to all the people on the committee. My point is that this book deserves an award, but the likelihood that it will receive one is almost non-existent. It’s beautiful and strange, so let’s appreciate it in our own time." http://blogs.slj.com/…/newbery-caldecott-2020-final-predic…/

You can download a PDF here.
Booksellers, if you would like to receive a hard copy, email [email protected].

Rabbit, Hare, and Bunny by Robert Broder and illustrated by Bryan Langdo was released last week.
Rabbit, Hare, and Bunny are roommates; and sometimes roommates do not get along. This funny story, written by RGP's own Robert Broder, will make you laugh out loud! And Bryan Langdo's lovely watercolor illustrations bring these three characters, and more, to life!

Selfie the Elfie by Savage Steve Holland and illustrated by Andrea Tripke will be released October 1.
This is RGP's first holiday book! It is a truly magical picture book to round out the year. Santa’s workshop is a very busy place-even for Sophie, who is in charge of tying bows on every present. But when she starts taking selfies with her handy-dandy camera phone, everyone in the workshop easily gets distracted…until Santa’s Big Night Delivery Suit goes missing! Can the reader find the trail to Santa’s suit? Will Sophie’s selfies save the day?

Find these two great stories along with all of our other titles wherever books are sold!
